King School is an independent, college preparatory day school serving students from Pre-kindergarten through Grade 12. The School completed the process of renaming and rebranding itself in 2016 as King School. The School continues to distinguish itself by showcasing the deeply rooted, defining elements of the School, which stem from each of the founding institutions, and which enable its PreK-Grade 12 students to thrive: exceptional faculty; student-centered approach to teaching and learning; academic excellence; a culture of integrity, kindness, perseverance, and respect.


Daily Responsibilities:


Student Billing Oversee the annual contract enrollment process as it relates to student billing. Responsible for billing of tuition charges and other fees. Run monthly statements and e-mail to parents. Daily posting and recording of tuition and other payments. Complete the monthly student billing close and reconciliation of student billing accounts to the general ledger on a monthly basis. Complete other student billing and general account analysis as required. Maintain all files and billing reports related to student billing. Maintain accurate general ledger mapping in the Tuition Management system. Scan and record checks received for deposit. Liaise between King School, the Insurance Provider and parents with all matters regarding student billing-related insurance. Prepare reports for the annual audit. Credit and Collection Analyze account receivable balances monthly and follow up on overdue balances. Communicate payment reminders via billing statements, e-mail and phone calls. Work closely with families to ensure timely payments. Inform Controller of overdue account balances that require special handling. Transportation Communicate transportation schedule changes (e.g., early closings and delayed openings) to the City of Stamford. Coordinate out-of-town bus scheduling with applicable bus companies, Stamford Board of Education, families and Division Heads. Coordinate transportation billing.


Job Requirements:


Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable and accounting. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with various constituents. Strong written and verbal communication skills, self-directed, detailed oriented and strong problem-solving skills. Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. Good judgment at all times and exercise discretion in handling sensitive material. Impeccable organizational and analytical skills. High degree of professionalism, diplomacy and confidentiality.
