Job Description:
The Building Engineer handles a variety of day-to-day mechanical and maintenance issues related to servicing the building and its tenants. In addition, this position requires flexible, 24 hour availability in order to provide proper back up support for all building systems, security and clean-up.
Daily Responsibilities:
Repair, maintain, replace, install and adjust mechanical equipment for all building systems and services.
Handle all other plumbing, electrical and HVAC Building problems.
Respond to all tenant service requests as directed by Senior Property Manager.
Utilize Building Engines when responding to tenant requests.
Handle 24-hour on-call emergencies under supervision of Senior Property Manager.
Complete early hour snow removal during winter season up to and including plowing, shoveling and, salting.
Assist with implementing Preventive Maintenance Programs and enforcing Building Rules and Regulations.
Perform other installations and repairs as required by Property Management.
Function as Company representative between Building Owners/Management and Tenants.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Requires minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation of a multi-tenant commercial office building with a background in electrical, HVAC, and inside and outside maintenance.
Prefer S-1 or S-2 License.
Must have very good verbal communication skills.
Must be capable of heavy lifting and moving objects (in excess of 25/50 pounds); must be capable of climbing, crawling and working on ladders.
