Job Description:


Join CBRE as a Union Utility Engineer supporting a dynamic retail portfolio across Connecticut. In this hands-on role, youll keep buildings running at their best by performing preventive maintenance and responding to service requests across multiple sites. Day-to-day, youll operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building systemshelping ensure a safe, comfortable experience for clients and customers while minimizing downtime. Daily Responsibilities:


Conduct facility inspections and report conditions impacting operations. Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders for building systems and equipment. Triage as a first responder on HVAC work orders to include filter replacement and resetting equipment. Inspect, operate, and maintain electrical, plumbing, and general building systems to include: Painting / Patch & Paint Plumbing (faucets, leaks, clogs, toilets) Lighting replacement (interior/exterior, above and below 14ft) Repair/patch walls (Interior Walls, Exterior Walls) Ceiling tiles Plus: doors/hardware, signage, graffiti removal, grounds, glass board-up, caulking, floor tile, gutter/downspout, railings, blinds/curtains, awnings, carpet repairs, slip hazard, graffiti removal Troubleshoot and repair non-HVAC equipment while maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Follow all safety procedures, complete hazard assessments, and comply with OSHA and local regulations. Use CMMS (e.g., Corrigo) to update work orders and document activities in real time. Communicate effectively with clients and management; work independently in the field. Safely operate and maintain company vehicles; complete required inspections and documentation. Qualifications:


Job Requirements:


High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred. 35 years of experience in building engineering (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid drivers license. Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. Additional Requirements: Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb, and work in varying conditions. Availability for after-hours and emergency calls. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future


Compensation:


$38.00 per hour. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale.
