Job Description:
The ECS coach is responsible for developing teachers in one of the schools within our network at the elementary or middle school level. The successful candidate will have evidence of strong performance with educating students and coaching teachers. Coaches work collaboratively with school leaders and other stakeholders to enhance instructional practices, improve student outcomes and promote a culture of continuous improvement. This position reports to the school principal.
Daily Responsibilities:
Lifelong learner of curriculum and student learning
High confidence in ability to help most students reach grade level or above achievement, regardless of background
Strong background knowledge in relevant content areas
Experience developing teachers into coaches or some other related position
Enjoys modeling instructional practices for and with teachers in a classroom setting
Delivers feedback that is timely, objective, direct and constructive
Considers the whole adult and the whole child when using data to make decisions
Gravitates towards high accountability environments
Has a traditional leaning regarding educational practices (direct instruction, frequent assessment, homework, etc.)
Job Requirements:
Masters degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Doctorate preferred.
Minimum of 4 years teaching experience in education, with a minimum of 2 years in a teacher development role.
For elementary candidates, experience in the upper elementary grades is ideal.
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
